"Tony
has taken full advantage of every opportunity that the College has to
offer to further his musical knowledge and experience, as well as to
observe the teaching of music. Tony shows himself
to be a skillful workshop leader and instructor whose ability to generate
enthusiasm and cooperation amongst diverse kinds of people and levels
of musical ability is second to none. He brings a sense of humor
and fun to even the driest situation that makes learning more accessible
for students, particularly the shy and fearful." "I
am pleased to say that Anthony successfully qualified in his teacher
training course. In addition,I taught him for a whole year as a musicianship
student and helped supervise his teaching practice, which was of a very
high level of expertise. Tony is in every sense
a professional musician and teacher, with a highly responsible attitude
to his work and a commitment to teaching and performing that I have
rarely encountered." Tony has been teaching for over 20 years, both privately and in music schools, in New Jersey and New York City, USA. He has also been a visiting lecturer at Goldsmiths College, University of London and Northumbria University, New Castle, England. Tony has taught Music and English in the Arnoldischule and Ernestinum of Gotha, Germany, and is currently teaching Music and English part-time at the Arnoldischule Gymnasium of Gotha. He is very popular and welcomed at this school. "Tony is worth gold," says the principle of the Arnoldischule, Mr. Clemens Festag. Privately Tony teaches all styles of drumming, from beginner to advanced. He teaches each student in an individual way, according to their ability and needs, to help them achieve their own personal style of expressing themselves through their instrument. Tony is well versed in acoustic drumming and electronic instruments. He is very much a student of life and enjoys instructing others who are interested in his Zen approach to teaching. Tony has studied privately with Gary Chester (session great), Kenwood Dennard (jazz great) Gil Evans favorite drummer , Frankie Malabe (latin great), Carl Mattola, and Charlie Danlute. Tony teaches all styles plus: Technique, Coordination, Concentration, Chart Reading, Rhythm, and Creativity. |
"For it is better to go alone on the path of life rather then to have a fool for a companion. With few wishes and few cares, and leaving all sins behind, let a man travel alone, like a great elephant alone in the forest". (Buddha)
