The concept behind "Weapons Of War" was originally conceived and written in New York City in 1994, when Vince Conigliaro and Tony Natale got together for a productive jam and writing session in Contex Studio, just prior to Tony’s relocation to London. For nine long years, this song travelled with Tony, secluded on a cassette tape as he moved around London, living between 12 flats in a seven-year period. By the summer of 2002, after moving to Germany, he finally decided to re-record the idea in his new base at Drumtrack Studio, Gotha, Germany. The song features Tony Natale on keyboards, acoustic guitars, bass and drums; in addition, he travelled to the south of France, where he gained the input on vocals of Oliver Campana, a band mate from his ‘London years’. Oliver’s contribution is highly impressive; his distinctive vocals on the chorus seem to truly elevate the recording to another level, so much so that Tony decided to give him a fair share of the copyrights, too!

The essence of this song is to promote peace, together with a more constructive way to use our energy and money to help people of all colours and backgrounds in achieving a more productive life. This work is not perfect nor as complete as Tony would like it to sound, because of the pressures of time and finance; nevertheless, he still resolves to, ‘Put it like it is’, in the clear message conveyed, which is undoubtedly more important than simply the recording itself. In the future, Tony hopes to include a grittier ‘live’ version of ‘Weapons of War’.

"Mountain" is now available on Peacepipe Records.

Weapons of War

Lyrics by; Tony Natale, Vince Conigliaro

Music by ; Tony Natale , Vincent Conigliaro and Oliver Campana.

Verse: I had a dream about you and me, living life so peacefully,

all this greed and jealousy, your killing thee.

Growing up is not the same, people seem so ready to blame.

All these lies your telling me, do you think we will ever see.

Bridge: So much money for weapons of War, and not enough to feed the poor.

We can build together so much more, then we could ever win a battle for.

Chorus: We could come a long way, little by little, everyday.

We could come a long way little by little, everyday.

Verse 2: Everything goes around in circles, comes around, goes around.

Win or lose its all the same, as we all feel the pain.

Bridge: To much money for weapons of War, and not enough to feed the poor,

Nobody's neither wrong or right that's why I refuse to fight.

Figure: All this greed and misery,

Tell me what we're fighting for.

Feed the poor and starve the war.

Feed the poor and starve the war.

Chorus: We could come a long way, little by little, everyday. We could come a long way little by little, everyday.

Verse: (guitar solo)

Bridge: So much money for weapons of War, and not enough to feed the poor.

Chorus: We can come a long way, little by little, everyday.
